My First Deer!!

3 Years of trying and learning finally paid off. I would have been happy with pretty much any deer but this is the nicest one I've seen on the cam at the property I hunt and it happened to be the first one I've seen this week!
So happy to have finally shot my first deer and for it to be this beast...I'm speachless. Thanks to all those who have helped me out along the way!

Can anyone recommend a good taxidermist? I would like to do a shoulder mount of this buck.

Btw i noticed you put your controlled deer validation on the buck. You dont put that on the deer just the seal, you continue to carry it with you especially if you plan to party hunting.

I wasn't too sure so thought it would be better to be safe than sorry and just put both on.

Been out a few times this year, only seeing 1 doe in October(other than seeing lots of deer & coyotes on my cameras). Went out Monday afternoon, saw lots of tracks all over but didn't see or hear any deer. I had found some rubs on the other end of the property last week so set up a camera nearby. Monday night after I finished hunting I grabbed the camera I had set up to see if there was anything going on on the other end as obviously not much happening where I was at. Totally forgot to check when I got home, or the next day until about 11 pm when I was about to go to bed. I check the card and see several does and 3 nice bucks including the one I ended up shooting which I had never seen on any cameras before. I saw it and yelled to my wife "Holy !! Look at that one!! Imagine I shoot that? That would be amazing!!" So I set up shop on the other end of the property. Problem is I didn't have a blind setup there, ... Wednesday morning dragged my popup blind out, set it up for the second time ever and hung out for a few hours giving some grunts and bleats every so often. Then all of a sudden I hear and see a buck coming in about 50 yards out. Super excited...I grab my gun, aim, wait a few seconds for it to clear a couple trees, give a soft grunt and he stops and BANG...He runs for a bit into a thicket, then I see him start to come back towards me a little bit and slowly. Then I lose him in the thicket so I wait for about half an hour as about 15 turkeys wander through. I kept waiting because I thought if I hit him but didn't kill him & I spook the turkeys then they spook him this is going to be bad so wait a few min for turkeys to disperse and there he is laying about 75 yards from where I shot him. I was so pumped!! One of the best moments I've had in a long time!!
