My last success in tagging a deer came in November of 2013, almost exactly five years ago. That was a huge buck taken by crossbow. A first archery harvest for me.
This morning a small buck fell to my newly acquired, old Midland rifle. Another first for me because I had never shot anything with a SCOPED rifle before.
I am very thankful indeed. :)

Yes you start to question everything you're doing when you haen't filled your freezer for 3 years. Been there ...done that! Congratulations and I'm sure your even more grateful given the early winter we're getting.

Just got back... It was a fantastic day indeed. We were 2 friends at camp and after my morning "bang-flop" buck, buddy shot another young buck in the same manner. We've never had two deer hanging here at the same time, so yeah, another FIRST.

Those young bucks are great eating deer. I'll take one like that any day!
