So with the close of Grouse and the dog still wanting to get out for a run was thinking of booking at Bird's eye.
They have Friday morning 9-1 pm open.
I'm still tentative but if I go wouldn't mind some company.

My dog is limping a bit (off and on), but he was out running like the wind this afternoon.
He can definitely use some more practice afield and we haven't done pheasant this year.

Good times had today. We laughed, we cried and in the end had a bit of fun. Nova was off his game today think planted birds are not his game. Blew over the first plant bird. Bust and wild flushed a runner but did regain some composure on a hen reflush. Relocated a bird we had flush and missed earlier. Held her till we got in position for the flush and shot.
Should get bounus points to get a white bird planted in the snow ;)

You guys have nice dogs and what a bonus with that white pheasant. If it had a full tail it would make a great mount.

here's to a speedy recovery. Had a similar experience earlier. Put Nova down in the bush and within 10 minutes noticed he badly gashed his back heal. Brought him back the vehicle cleaned and bandaged however managed to salvaged the day as Stella double shifted that day.Quote:

Been there a few times. Bruce is a nice guy and his birds are healthy strong flyers. Cover is open farm fields with usually some dead brush piles and Xmas trees. Earlier in the season you will have grass & hay for birds to hide but right now not so much. Your dogs will get a good workout anyway.Quote:
