This thread is inspired by a thread on CGN. What gun was your first deer harvested with? What was your latest deer shot with? My first was taken with my Grandfathers 1954 Winchester 30/30 in 1998, just 2 months before he passed away. His house was my first stop on the way home, he even helped skin it. My latest was this past fall, a little spike buck fell to my Gunsite Scout in .308.
My first was with an Excalibur 335 micro and my last was taken this past fall with a Sako Bavarian Carbine in 270 win.
First Deer was shot with Remington 742 in .308 shooting blue box Federal. Last Deer was shot with Sako A7 in .30-06 shooting Federal Barnes Tripple Shok.
First was in the controlled hunt in 70 with a Browning BPS and cantilever rifled barrel. Timeline +/- 2000
Last 2 deer (2018) 63A with a Benelli R1 270wsm. Then in controlled hunt in 70 again, Savage 220. Those 220s are accurate. Paired with a 2-7 Nikon BDChttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d21e3d73b4.jpg

Crisbow Cheetah got my first, a small doe. My last was last year with a 1915 Lee Enfield Sporter in 303 British in the wet snow, brought the beater out rather than the nice guns.
First deer 1956 shot with .410 shooting slugs, last deer 2018, .257 Roberts 117 gr. ballistic silvertip
First deer was with a Winchester Model 1907 in .351 Winchester.
My last was with my 1957 Marlin 336A DL in .30-30 Ackley Improved.
Except for two deer with a Ruger Hawkeye in .257 Roberts, all my deer were taken with my old Browning A-Bolt in .280 Remington.
First deer was with a 270 loaner, no idea what it was
Last deer was with browning x-bolt medallion 308
First deer many years ago [1960 ] was with a model 70 Win. in .243 cal, the last was with a Savage Smokeless M.L. IN .50 in 2017 , with many others between in .32 Win Spcl. A.I. in a Win. model 94 , 7mm mag. cust. built, and my Kit built .54 cal Hawken type.
First in 1984 with a 1980 .444 marlin. 265 grain Remington. Last same rifle, same load. And no, it's not the same deer - there were more than a few in between.
6.5 x 55 Swede....24 yrs later....6.5 x 55 Swede.....heck of a lot a deer shot in between with Traditions Pursuit .50 cal ML....
First deer was with a win mod 12 12g slug. Last was with Excalibur crossbows.
First with a 6mm
Last with 30-06

last 2018, Lyman trade rifle .54 cal round ball
First deer in '95 with my Father's early 1970's Remington 1100 semi.
Last deer in 2017 with the same gun.
All my deer in 90B Controlled Hunt shot with Remington 11-87 12ga fully rifled cantilever barrel with Bushnell Red/Green Dot scope.
Ammo was 2 3/4 Federal with Barnes Expander Sabot.
First deer was a spike buck at 60 yards many years ago. Last buck [8 pointer] 3 years ago last day of hunt used the last of my Federal Barnes Expanders on him.
Same gun for both first and last: H&R 20 gauge ultra slug hunter.
first was with my 870 12g cantilever barrel ( since sold and wish i hadn't)
last was with my savage 111 .270win
First was with my 270 Parker Hale Midland 2100 using 150 gr Winchester in NB, the last was with a Mossberg Bolt 395 12 gauge using Buckshot. Most in between were with the 12 gauge sometimes buckshot and sometimes slugs.
Oddly enough my first and last were both with shotguns but I've probably shot less deer with a shotgun than anything else. First was with a Challenger 12 gauge slug from a Winchester Ranger model 120 with a smooth bore slug barrel. Last was with an H&R Ultra Slug Hunter 20 gauge with Remington Accutips.

1991: Winchester Model 70 Ranger, .270 Win, green box Remingtons
2017: Remington Model 760, .308 Win, green box Remingtons
First) Winchester 1200, 12g slug in controlled hunt Halton.
Last) Browning BLR .358w, Parry Sound.
First was with a Winny 94 in 3030 shooting 170gr Silver Tips, last was with a Ruger M77 in 308 shooting 150gr PowerMax.
2016: First deer (nice little 8pt.) and it was with my compound now - Blackout SS 60#
2018: Last deer ( and 2nd deer ever) little buck with my Mossberg 500 "shrifle" - Hornady Slug. Was my first time hunting the controlled hunt, Both taken in 77b.
First , great-grandfathers 30-32 Special. Last, same 30-32. I get such a rush using that old gun that I just can't switch.
Shot my first deer in 2008 with a Browning BPS and a Challenger rifled slug at about 80 yards.
Last deer was the same deer. I hate deer hunting.

First deer 12ga Beretta semi auto with rifled slug. Most recent deer, 50 cal TC Impact muzzle loader.

The first deer I shot was a doe that I tipped over with a Winchester model 70 chambered in .300 WinMag. The last deer I shot was a 3.5 year-old 8-pointer that I took with my Browning B78 single shot in 30.06 caliber.
