Awesome Mount idea!

Saw this on a FB Hunting group....fabulous idea for a mount !!!

It looks like it would be he toughest kind of mount to keep clean.
They do have to be taken down periodically to clear out spider webs , dust and such which all mounts collect.

As much as I appreciate the taxidermist's talent, it reminds of the rifle or scope ads we often see in magazines showing a hunter with a rack on his pack-frame. In my opinion such images reinforce the negative and incorrect stereotype that hunters are in it for the trophy and leave the meat behind.

LOL! Definitely not better :)

While that pack mount really looks nice, if it hung on my wall I think I'd get tired or having to respond to every non-hunter who asks, "So you packed out the head and left the meat in the bush?"

I personally have never liked the kind of ad imagery like the one below. I think it sends the wring message.

But that could be said for any head mount....this mount tells more of a story about the hunt, shows pride in the sport.

I was going to say this same thing, any mount can show what they want it to show.

The pack mount at least shows mow much work it takes.

I have deer rack mounts, fish mounts, 1 euro deer mount I did up for my dad that I have not finished yet, turkey fans, an owl is on the way, going to mount a couple goat euro mounts from animals on our farm too, to me is shows pride and experiences, anything negative that someone wants to make about it is something that should bring up conversation rather than covering it up as if you feel shame in hunting and fishing.

Not much difference than fancy Turkey mounts..I use canned compressed air to blow it off once in a while. Not an issue.

Well then I guess I'm going to jail! Too many mounts!

When are we going to stop apologizing and cowering because someone might take offence to our legal rights to survive as hunter/gatherers. Anyone not liking my mounts can just leave and don't come back.
Most are impressed and ask questions and want a few pictures with them in it.
The 3 full bears really get a wow factor from anyone.
Halloween is especially busy with returning kids wanting to see the bears again.
I bet 1/2 the kids have their picture with the bears.
Some have even left with a real bear claw! I keep all the claws from all the bears that are "meaters " .

My mounts IMO have had a more positive affect on the non hunting public then negative.

SO display proudly and stand up for your rights! Don't cower because of ONE misguided vegetarian fool.

I have mounts in my house that I proudly display.

All I'm saying is that I personally don't like the "rack-on-pack" image that is often portrayed in ads, etc. I think it conveys the image that all the hunter is taking home with him is the trophy head and has left the meat behind.

I know some buys that had the taxidermist keep the tag on it, seems like a cool idea but all the tags on deer we have brought out of the bush would not have made too nice of a display.

Poacher display. Now that's funny.

That wouldn't even cross my mind if I seen that. I'd expect that from anti hunters or non hunting community but not on a hunting forum.

How would you guys pack out a deer if you shot it in a spot that had to be packed out? Fit the rack inside the pack and rope the meat off on the outside and expose it to the elements? Leave the head if you can't carry it all in one trip? Just take the antlers? Lol

Any hunt I've seen/been on, If they can't carry it all in one trip, the meat goes first and they come back for the head second round.

The meat could be in the pack. Why do we have to always make assumptions ? I could assume by your avatar you only cut the antlers off and left the rest.
