Hi-i have 14 years old LaCrosse rubber boots.Awesome reliability. Wore it just about everywhere and for anything.
After so many years it developed a crack where i constantly bend the material,while taking it off.
Anyone has a good repair method?
Was thinking this and that...but maybe someone already done similar repair.

I have used Shoegoo... walmart or canadian tire should carry it too

I used it and it works well but only last about a season then needs to be added again...
Shoegoo works good but if hole is the same place as my Lacrosse alpha(back of the ankle) the continued flexing of the rubber made the patch come off. Lasted a few outings. Maybe rough the area up first might work better
I ended up buying a Cabelas pair of rubbers as the reviews of the newer Lacrosse weren't very good. only one season on them so far

Have had good luck by roughing the area with coarse sand paper (80 grit) then a layer of butyl caulking and a denim patch. Once dry, another coat of caulk...........................It ain't pretty but it worked for me. Got a few more years out of my boots............DanielQuote:

I find that Marine Goo from CDN Tire works better than Sho Goo. It is a thicker product with a stickier adhesive. I use it on hunting boots, running shoes, etc. that are getting worn or leak with good results. Important to clean and scuff the cracked area first. Rick in Muskoka.
I’ve used Marine Shoogoo to patch a hole on my rubber Sorels. It’s been 4 years and still holding.
I have used automotive tube patches on my rubber boots, works great but looks funny.
The best stuff I have ever used is aqua seal. Used it on hunting waders yearly. Found it a much better product than shoe goo. I have used it on the boots of an older second pair of waders. I think the area was going funny where it was flexing every step. I slapped some aqua seal on 5 years ago.....still going.

So far i did a deep dive to prep the boot,and it seems the whole surrounding are is also getting"cracked"up,no hole thru yet,but while flexing the material it shows many '"small island like " separations..........so i am scratching my head.............
UPDATE-after contemplating solutions(thanx Guys for all the help !)i went for Aquaseal.
After 18 hrs curing time i put the boots on-and they are"as new".
Tried in puddles,no leak.Looked at the patch after 15 km wearing them in the bush-patch is same as the day i put it on.........Awesome.Hope it will last a while.
