Done! :)
My hunt lasted 2.5hrs in duration & I seen 2 bears. :)
Not a monster bear but I am ok with prime cuts of meat over a large hide and bragging rights.
Based on the forum, it sure doesn't seem like many people did the spring bear hunt.
I would guess the rain and cool weather had something to do with. Me personally did not participate, only went one year and got ate alive by black flies.
I save my bear hunting for the fall
There's usually a lull around here through the summer, especially after such a long wait for nice weather. Things always pick up again once autumn is in the air.

I went for a weekend hunt just North of Parry Sound... Walked some powerlines, did some calling too, did not see one in the 5-6 hrs I invested. Always nice to get out though....
Total lack of time and the fact I couldn't get an additional tag in the WMU I fall hunt in stopped me. Even when this normally happens I still run a bait - Just no time. I also lost permission due to a land sale of the only property I had with an established bait site further then 200 m from a road. Don't have the time right now to blaze a new trail 200 m through dense bush . . .
I managed to take one on June 1st on our groups annual bear week trip. My 2nd with a stickbow. Everyone in the group had opportunities but this was the only one that came home.
As you can see, I used the fanciest new digital camo on the market

What a beast of a bear and to harvest him with old school tackle is awesome.....congrats
Great bear man!!
Those ears look plenty far apart, that's a fine boar there, wtg. Now that you've teased us with that, hows about a good story, some more pics and some specs on the critter and your recurve setup? I look forward to the thread. :)
Cheers
Great job on the stick bow bear! Serious bragging rights on that.
Gee... well, now I kinda feel like i've mislead you fellas. heehee
It's actually not a very big bear at all. <200lbs. It's a really good 'big fish' photo. :D
That said, I was more than happy to take it and make it a successful spring adventure. If ya'll are interested, I'll throw together a quick thread about this years successes, failures, and lessons learned. Traffic's been kinda light on here these days anyhow
