Restricted or non-restricted?

I am planning on doing a bear hunt form a ground blind and was thinking of getting one of these Dominion Arms Grizzly Shotgun for protection. Canadaammo sits says it non-restricted but when I check the RCMP it seems restricted to me.

What do you guys think?

Restricted firearms include:

• handguns that are not prohibited;
• semi-automatic, centre-fire rifles and shotguns with a barrel shorter than 470 mm;
• rifles and shotguns that can be fired when their overall length has been reduced by folding, telescoping or other means to less than 660 mm; and

It's non-restricted because it's a pump action.

Its non restricted, I have one. Try shooting 3 in slugs outta that shorty.....its got a bit of muzzle jump lol

I had one it's no restricted and also a piece of junk. I would not rely on it for protection unless you use it as a club.

12 Gage O/U Full/Full Choke 30 in barrel 400 gr rifled slug ,
Is better for Bear protection ...
Or You buy a Combination gun .300 / 12 gage and you are covered
and don't have to switch the guns when Bear is running at you ....

If You are gun hunting,with rifle per say-why do You need another gun?
Carry a bear spray if You want extra safety,that is short,and handy.And cheap and reliable.And light and "legal"by any means.no unload laws,no case required etc.........

Now,if You are thinking tracking wounded bear-ANd you are NOT with an Outfitter,then nothing beats a short barreled pump shotgun loaded with mixture of slug and 00 load.
If You happen to own most any kind of shotgun,will do the job.I would avoid semi or single shot though...
Second choice would be a big bore lever gun.45/70 is the king.

I always carried buckshot when tracking bears. 9 pellets is better than one slug when the time comes. One in the head is all you need.

I’ve seen a few short barrel shotguns at gun shows. They appear to designed for protection if hiking in the back country where you might encounter a bear problem. They are foreshorten by the manufacture, to give them maneuverability against a close-in bear attack, where you might not be able to get the muzzle of a longer gun into position before the animal is upon you. The story I got is, if the gun comes from the manufacture with a shorten barrel it falls into one class, in this case it appears from what others have said to be non-restricted, by contrast if an individual decides to saw the barrel off for a similar reason, it automatically makes the gun a prohibited firearm.

Action has EVERYTHING to do with it,it’s non-res because it’s NOT a semi,470mm barrel rule only applies to semis.
Its not a semi and OAL is >660mm.....good to go.
Grizzly also offers non-restricted SxS with 8” barrels....again,as long as OAL is >660mm not a problem.

I carry a large knife for those situations.
