Let me ask two questions ...

1) Can we trust the Liberal's ... I mean we see Billy change his story a couple times, get basic facts wrong, turn red and lie and march off. So can we trust the Liberal's to do the "right" thing ... based on their record and their "truth" I suspect their "right" thing is closer to Alan Rock and Wendy Cuklier's idea and they want to seize even more personal property from law abiding citizens. OK so I just watched the video in it's entirety and I have a couple of comments (and a question). First the AR15 has been in Canada for over 50 years. My first one in the early 90's was just another gun, I used it for groundhogs. It was only deemed restricted by order in council (a bureaucrat thought it was scary). Also pretty much every gun in existence started life as a military "assault" weapon, right from a musket to a Barrett 50BMG. His statement that " the safety of all society is upmost and outweighs the risks involved in allowing some people to own such weapons" is pure hogwash. The Liberals could care less about public safety. If they did they would implement measures that actually deal with firearm crime in inner cities. They introduced Bill C-71 and now they are talking about a rifle confiscation and not once have they mentioned any measures to deal with the actual problem. Oh I know they announced $450 million Canada wide to deal with gangs and guns but Trudeau's canoe vacation scheme is estimated to cost $550 million. So my question is what do you feel is the "right thing" and will you still feel the same when they come for your "sniper rifle", you know the one with a scope? TC

IF the LIBERALS had intentions of taking ALL YOU GUNS how come it did not happen when they had back to back MAJORITY GOVERNMENTS?

We know from the Angus Reid polls that 55% of hunters would favour more restrictions so for this forum your probably out of luck.

Billy Blair is probably the best person to handle this file because of his extensive law enforcement background into these issues.

As Minister Blair points out this is not America where its a right, this is Canada and its an earned privileged.

There is not a chance of guns being banned in Canada which are commonly used in hunting because there is to much money at stake.

Personally if I could not keep my semi auto (I only bought one because I was hunting over dogs at the time) then I would simply go to a bolt action.I think every hunter on here can kill a deer with a bolt action gun.

Let's just say the Liberals win another clear majority and proceed with seizures of all "military style" rifles,all handguns and a few dozen styles of hunting rifles and shotguns exactly the same as what's happened in New Zealand,Australia and the UK. I think once again some of you guys need to watch some main stream news.Lowest unemployment rate at 5.5% in decades,seven times the number of jobs produced last month than expected.This is why Justin will get re elected.Now we have Andrew (the coffeeboy) he wants to cut 52 billion in the next 5 years across the board,this would be infrastructure programmers much need when the full blast of global warming hits us.

I remember Chief Saunders talking about recently in a 60 day period they rearrested 52 on firearms charges again. So almost as soon as they were out of jail they had a new gun and a ban will fix that... criminal (not allowed) with an illegal handgun (not allowed), in public with that handgun (not allowed) and taking the private property of people obeying the law is their solution .... the logical and moral disconnect is beyond fixing it seems!

Well actually I live up north out of the City about 8 months of the year and hunt with the locals up there so I am well attuned to both city feeling about guns and rural folks feelings.I already have an abandoned farm property up north and a few hundred acres but thanks for asking.

Well I am in good company it seems as we are still ahead in the polls. Billy Blair is a smart man and will do the right thing for Canadian hunters.There is no indication otherwise.

I'm aware of the crime rates in rural areas . I still keep up to the times and know what's happening on the streets today. Only differences are I get to hear the real street side of the stories. I also have stories to tell as well ,as I grew up in a life of trouble in my teens.

That area you patrolled is not as scary as it's worked up to be. Yes it a major drug area and there is some problems but I remember walking around the area mid teens learning what crack looks like in the back alleys. No I never did it but I was a big cannabis user we just visited every once and awhile.
