January - Nipissing Ice Reports Thread

So I'm just going to keep rolling with the ice reports but now that the season is open I'm going to be fishing at the same time. I'm going to try to squeeze in 5 minutes of fishing per day (for health reasons). Maybe If I'm lucky something will bite while I'm laying down the conditions on the lake. Too bad I'm way down here in Toronto and can't take advantage of your efforts, but I hope to head up your way sooner than later, so that I can try out the amazing fishery that you have there.

Some nice jumbos there koke,well done.

I always found the perch fishing to die off by dark. Only once we got a night time perch. Then again you have the walleye good luck

Going to be a messy weekend there with lots of snow.

Nice going looks like you had had a great day out .
Nothing wrong with a blue walleye lol. We get the odd perch like that too, never noticed anything different with the meat or taste. Only ever kept a few tho they are are rare .

Great release on the blue guy tho maybe he will make more blues [emoji1787].

Nice work koke you should invest in the clam plate and get a nice drill to do all the work for you.
Only problem you will have being on nipposing you will need an extension for it. Wont need an extension for simcoe this year. Almost needed it last year in one area.

Keep up the good work.

You will never forget or regret the decision of the clam plate. Works wonders and with my Milwaukee fuel I was drilling almost 40ft of ice per battery last year.

I think you are right fishfood. I've been thinking about that kind of a set up for a few years now. Actually the ice on Nipissing is progressing really slowly this year. It's a little mind boggling.
