A little piece of me died putting this in the "bow"hunting section, but here it is...The first torsion crossbow.
Do you think this will catch on?

I think it will catch on...I for one would use it.
I like the idea, and the video shows it, that when carrying other 'stuff' there is NO limbs to get in the way.
Wish they had let the 2nd video run 10 sec longer so you could hear the release, not that it should be that noisy, but would be nice to hear it.
Gasped at the price I saw, $2K US, but then a lot of the newer 'bows' (?) are getting into that price range.
Thanks for posting that...
Cold weather testing will tell the tale. It certainly looks like something I would trade up to. It's a great day not having to worry about hitting limbs and such.
Is the price worth getting used once every three years, not sure.
My next questions would be about ease of maintenance and tuning.

I wonder if this would even be considered a bow?
Not for me mainly because the price is outrageous... lol
I'll stick with what I got... :)
I can't see why it wouldn't. It has a string and limbs, granted the limbs are curled up.
Downside as with all speed demons is the slow cocking. I hate the idea of needing the crank or rope aid. I do use the aid for proper string alignment but it's nice to be able to do it by hand.

I've used my rope aid in treestands many times, not really an issue, I do like to be able to it by hand, but I think with any bows on the market now, that is all but impossible.
I like the specs...10lbs and 360 fps with a 100 gr tip,,,not shabby.

I like it , it will take off if they market it properly.
Price not a big concern.
I would purchase one.

Deer hog hunt video
hard to judge the sound but does seem fairly quite not the same twang
I am not sure, looks like a pretty cool thing but not sure if those round string holders (for lack of a better term) will last all that long.. There must be a lot of energy stored and then whipped out of them....
This is cool,thanx for posting.
As far what i would like to see in the archery world is-the Benjamin Pioneer Airbow,or the PCP Umarex Airbow.
Likely never will happen.
Here are the definitions in the MNRF Regulations Summary.
"Firearms include rifles, shotguns, muzzle-loading guns, air or pellet guns and bows (including longbows, crossbows, compound bows and recurve bows)"
Will this fall into the category of "longbows, crossbows, compound bows and recurve bows".
It sure as heck is not a crossbow, maybe you could call it a scroll bow.
Interesting. If proven to be durable, there sure are some nice advantages to it
Reality....the Hunting regs for crossbow don't mention anything about limbs...this has a legal draw weight, legal arrow length and a rail (ramp) for the arrow to load on.
Quote:
The draw length of a bow (compound, recurve, long) is the measured distance from the outer edge of the main riser (handle),
following the line of an arrow to the string at the anchor point. The draw length of a crossbow is measured along the bolt ramp (where the bolt rests) from the outer edge of the main limb, to the anchor point (release latch mechanism) at full draw.
Arrows must be at least 60cm (23.6 inches)in length. The length of an arrow is measured from the base of the arrowhead to the bottom of the nock slot. A broadhead used for hunting big game or wild turkey must be at least 22mm (0.87 inches) wide and have at least two sharp cutting edges.
motorize that winch and now you're talking ... LOL.
Doesn't matter what you call it....as long as it meets the requirements for a crossbow..
(most of the new x-bow don't have crosses anymore either..they look more like a large Jew's Harp.. HaHa..)

Hope nobody has p!ssed away their life savings trying to bring it to market. I predict it will catch on about as much as this did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2EeappH-zY
Nothing, other than "stupid hunting inventions". Here's another member of the club: https://www.amazon.ca/Horton-Knee-Pod/dp/B001MC5UPK
I feel like we should really start a new thread on this topic. "Stupid/Failed Hunting Inventions". haha
This has got to be my favourite http://www.extremehuntingsolutions.c...p?The-Wedge-10
That's right..."no more searching for sticks" :D
The problem is, if you stand back and look at the shelves in the hunting (or fishing) section ..75% of what they sell is silly, useless, stupid or frivolous and yet guys buy it anyway ie: Scents, anti scents, camo, 650 types of ammo...where do you start ? HaHa...
