My Last ( I hope) Covid-19 Coronavirus Rant

This is what I posted on Facebook today. I am sick of some people’s entitled behaviours that out all the rest if us at risk. Hang on people the next 2 weeks are going to be terrible.


I am having a hard time feeling sorry for Canadians stuck in other countries. The Covid-19 Coronavirus was very active in the world by March 1 and almost at the pandemic stage. This is when you should have started making arrangements to get home.
For those of you who left the country during March Break. Shame on you.


The impact of all of these people coming back is going to be a dramatic increase in Covid-19 cases and eventually triage decisions being made by medical staff to see who lives or dies. There is a shortage of much needed ventilators and other safety related supplies for front line medical people. These people are also at or close to their limits.


This is the time to get deadly serious about staying home and avoiding contact with others. This applies to everyone who is not working to make sure we all are safe, have food and are providing other essential services.


A big Thank You to everyone who is working to make sure essential services are maintained.


My last rant about this and I hope everyone does the right thing to ensure the safety of all of us.

Amen. Hard to see the pictures of the crowds on the beaches down south. Yesterday a news video of the self entitled ones in the parks in Vancouver, no 6 foot stay away zone at all, just crowds. Like you said, why on earth anyone would still go to the hot zones even back in January and then cry the blues to try and get back. Screw them.

I watched on the News, an interview with a woman from Whitby who is stuck in Ecuador with her two daughters, as all flights in and out are cancelled , no buss,s and it is a two hour walk to the airport.
She flew out on Mar. 11/20 , well into the covid 19 virus pandemic.
To me this is very stupid, flying out amidst the pandemic knowing very well about it and the problems.
Now she is sitting there crying because our Gov. isn't doing enough to get them out of the country. It is our tax dollars that will get her out , eventually, but how stupid can some people be , putting themselves and family and others at risk because they wanted a holiday, then expect us to pay to get them out as all airlines have cancelled non essential flights.
I just cannot feel sorry for these people .
The same is felt for people that are on cruise ships that went on them when the pandemic was announced, they are on a ship where no one is sick, you went there to enjoy a cruise, stay on the ship and further enjoy your cruise , you made your bed so sleep in it, don't expect the Gov. [us] to bail you out!

I agree with you 100% I hear these sob stories of people that gambled their holidays with COVID-19 and lost and now they are somehow void of any and all responsibility. I highly suggest you find a place and hunker down for a week or 8.

Just like these 3 planes going to pick up ppl in Peru.

What is his medicine for HIV.

It's difficult to understand why people are in a country at any time ... for sure I have no sympathy for a person that took a chance to go vacation. But that might not be the only reason ... a relative died, they went well before this made the news, they have a major business there, etc, etc. Let's not put everyone into one bucket.

I can see your point but relatives are dying here too and don't get funeral services. Anyone who was out of the country should have covered their butt and got back as soon as word started to spread. You can see the change in some on here from how it was no big deal to a very big deal. If you were so foolish as to say it was no big deal stay there. If you were so ignorant as to put your good times over the well being of a country, head over to N Korea, they will make sure you are healthy and safe as can be.

I can add to the above rant with something that burns my mind end a bit. No Frills, they sent out filters promoting their door crasher 88 cent sale for this week. Talk about stupidity, let's see how many people we can cram in our stores during a pandemic.

One son is in med school in Australia, he decided to stay there, where he can be some help, not looking to come home,yet.. Other son works for our federal government here. He is still working. Which one is better off? Time will tell.

I wouldn't want to be the people who are now stuck in a foreign country after a vacation and running out of money. That's a very scary situation. Like some said,though,it's really tough to feel sorry for them. When they finally get home,they should have to reimburse the government for every nickle.

Did your son in Australia get medical travel insurance through the school or from a provider here at home? If from Canada he may have a problem.

School. There are 100 Canadian citizens there, in school. Most stayed.
