Nice mount,congratulation
Very nice.
Watta deer!!
It is funny how deer mounts have changed over the years. My first couple have the big wooden live edge plaques attached, my buddy has mounts like yours and my last few have all been Texas. Not sure which is my favorite, but looking at yours I was thinking that it is nice to see more than just the horns. My first full mount was an old warrior with rips out of his ears and a big scar on his nose. I loved that the taxidermist left all of that without trying to repair or hide it. Looks like your guy has some character in his left ear too. And it is also interesting how long the hair around his bases is. Like most hunters I love just seeing deer, both mounted and on the hoof. Ultimately, I think it is proof that we appreciate much more than just harvesting them. Congrats on a nice buck and mount.
My first big buck mount I had the wood with greenery and looking at that mount, it takes your eyes away from the deer. This mount lets you focus on just the deer. The hair around his bases is way cool and pretty unique as I have never seen it like that before. The only problem with mounts like these is that you never really get the neck as thick as when you took the deer. With drying and tanning it does shrink back down some. This guys neck was very swollen when I shot him and he was rutting hard.
Do you mind me asking how much it cost to get a mount done like that?
Looks good
Great mount
X2-true words KennyT.
i myself started off with wooden plaques, but when i realized what You stated about focusing off from the deer,i took them all but one off.
For huntervinni-i think depends of the size and or spread of the antlers" so to say"-where making Euro(Texas)mount is better then full mount.
But -to each their own.
Nice one Vinni
Looks great
Looks very good, congrats!
Nice mount!
Nice looking deer
You put that in your bedroom didn’t you. Lol
Thanks guys. I have the mount at home right now but going to be setting it up at the cottage.
What did it score? Where did you harvest the deer?
i love the full mounts the problem is theyre expensive. my grandfather had a huge buck mounted at his house he passed a long long time ago and his son ended up selling it to someone, had i known it would be in my room right now i loved the thing. my father shot his biggest buck last year and actually texas mounted it himself if you want a picture i have 1 or 2. he actually saved the bullet fragments and mounted it with it as well. thought it was cool.
OP great deer and great mount looks awesome brought me back to that old mount i was just talking about. congrats!
Thanks guys. I didn't have it scored yet and don't know if I will but if i had to guess I would say in and around the 130's. He was taken on private property close to Uxbridge.
