I got one of the Spypoint mini cellular trail trail cameras and was quite happy to see this pop up on my phone. Interestingly my wife and me were just walking down the path 90 minutes before these were taken. In the one photo you can see the fawn nursing. Location, southern Bruce County.

I come across some tiny deer track in the mud yesterday. I also saw two very pregnant does, so they are obviously starting !!
It’s too bad there’s just not enough plant life yet for them to hide out in yet

Oh wow! You’re in my neck of the woods. I’ve got all my cameras out so I should probably start seeing some as well. I didn’t c my first doe fawn pic till about July last year.

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Assuming the fawn is 3 days old (just a guess) and a gestation period of 193 to 205 days, the conception date range was October 26th to November 7th. I’m not sure how these dates relate to last fall’s rut forecasts.

Was out this morning and saw fresh doe and fawn tracks.
Just had fawn born close to my shop.
I’m up to 3 that I know of
last year about this time, I was going in to hunt turkey. I parked by the barn and walked about 20yds and I saw these green eyes shining at me. Thought it was a raccoon until I was about 10ft away. I took a bunch of pictures and then moved on for my hunt.
Is this early or right on track? If the rut is in mid-November, I would have expected most fawning to be about a week away.

Last year between May 21-May 27, the doe in my thread :Life of a fawn-part 1(in Photo-Video Shoot section)gave birth to a fawn in Mount Forest area.........i think this is the time,from like mid May on...........
I’m in grey county and they have started having fawns. Last year it was end of July before I saw the first on cam and sets of fawn tracks

There is usually two breeding seasons, early and late so depending on when the Doe is breed will obviously depend on the birth of the fawns thus the age deference
X2-mature does breed generally Nov,leftover older does and young does breed in Dec.Quote:

They work really well and are easy to make. I use 4” PVC, but you can go bigger or smaller. You can also make a double chute with a “Y”. The pipe comes in 10’ lengths, so I make 2 5-footers at a time. I think it works out to $30/feeder. If you decide to make them, think about the ends on the fittings (male/female) so that you buy the right ones. One end of the 10’ pipe will be flared so you have to account for that when fitting a cap. Each feeder consists of a cap, pipe, 90 elbow, and 45 elbow. I drill 1/4” holes at the bottom so rain water can drip out. I use metal strapping to fasten to the tree. FYI, if you use good feed, it won’t take long for the critters to empty it,Quote:
