Hello all, just wondering if anyone knows where to get some Remington 20 gauge accutip slugs? I seem to be having a hard time finding them. Sail in Cambridge used to have them but not anymore.
Thanks
John

Have you called shooters choice? Prophet River and Fishing World show the 20ga in stock if your willing to pay the shipping. I use these as well and it looks like the 20ga are in low supply. I wonder if they are going to replace them with the premier barnes expander slugs that came out a year or so ago. I see places carrying them now.
Thanks, I’ll give them a call. 2 3/4” or 3” for deer in a 20 gauge , what would you choose? I’m thinking 3”
I just use the 2 3/4". Added price and recoil to go with 3" for only a 50fps increase in velocity. Got a buck last year, first year switching from 12ga to 20ga. 110yd shot, he ran about 50yds and dropped over dead just as he got back to the bush. Recoil doesn't bother me but it was a pleasant surprise sighting in the 20ga. Took $200 worth of slugs before finding out the accutips were the most accurate. Nothing else was even close. If I had taken that many shots with the 12ga it would have left a nice bruise on my shoulder.
Buy both sizes and as much as you can afford. These shells are usually hard to find come hunting season
My 220 shoots 3" better than 2/34, My buddies is the opposite.

If the Accutips don't work out for you try Hornady SST. My Mossberg 535 with 24" rifled barrel loves them
What do you want to use them with.?
If it is Savage 220-buy both 2 3/4 and 3 and try out. Most likely you will choose the 3 " eventually. There is not much recoil and $$$ difference.Yet there is some theory about the length of the shell at 3" being better for the Savage 220 chamber. My 220 prefers 3"-but does a reasonable accuracy with 2 3/4 too.
I had a Winchester 20 gage rifled pump shotgun -which LOVED 2 3/4 Win Partition Gold(i LOVE that ammo -best out there IMHO)alas it would shoot for nothing from my 220 Savage..............so i am using 3" Accutip ,with good performance on deer.
Where to buy?....guys mentioned above few places.Buy 10-20 boxes at once if You can afford ,and know what you want.Once, there was the same crazy scare-NO ammo(like 5 years ago or so)so i bought whatever 3" i could put my hands on............still "covered "for few years to come.
I use them in a 20 gauge Remington 870 (rifled barrel). I buy the 2 3/4 inch.....I once had a 3 inch jam. There is very little difference in velocity. 4 guys in my deer gang use them and we have shot over a dozen deer with them....none needed a second shot....they work.
Sounds good, I’ll try both and see what happens, mossberg 500 is the delivery agent
I could not find any 3 inch 20 gauge accutips last year. I called remington and they said they were not importing any others at the time because the demand in the US was high. I found 5 boxes at a local store and bought all of them.
I did the same thing last fall as well, both my mother and my sister use the same ammo in 20 ga and I finally found a place that had it. Purchased all they had. Nothing like starting deer season with 4 shells lol .. . that's when you really see some action and miss a lot lol
I have an 870 in 12ga, bought 4 years ago, it shoots the remington shells the best, but I wish i have bought the 20ga instead.
Well, my Mossberg 500 20 gauge doesn’t seem to like accutips very much so I think I’ll try some Hornady SST’s.
you wont find accutips idk why ive been looking EVERYWHERE. cant find them, also cant find horadys anymore right now too. only thing i can find is remington "expanders" these are basically the only sabot slugs i could find right now
Cabelas told me accu tips are discontinued now that Remington went under.
Not sure I 100% believe that....

I was going to try the remington expanders because I always like the performance of the old federal sabots with the barnes bullet. But now that remington has been pieced out and sierra owns barnes, they might not be around long either.
I hope that's not true about the accutips as they were the only one that gave me good groups in my gun. My LGS had 10-15 boxes of 20ga 2 3/4 last time I was in. Maybe I'll go in and clean out the shelf if this rumor is true.
Well went to my LGS. Missed them by an hour. He said someone cleaned out all the 20ga he had, nearly 30 boxes. Still has 12ga left
here is the link...vista outdoors is a big outfit, I beleive they own Savage ,Bushnell, etc

Remington has been parted out. Sail told me they cannot get anything with a Remington name on it. No ammo coming north,
I managed to find some REM Premier Expander in 20 g. I’ll see how my 870 likes them.
Winchester 3" Dual Bond and Federal 7/8 oz 2 3/4 lead Sabot slugs could be used is Savage 220 , for the ones not having Accutips.
I think both are quite good for 50 y,and you can get by up to 100 y.
Tried only 1 box each few years back(thus not having big numbers to support my claim)but i would not hestitate to shoot any of the 2.
Especially Federal is SWEET-cost less then 10$ a box.............
Bumping this one to the top. Easthill has quite a few of the Remington accutips, both 3 and 2.75 inch but they are going quick. May be the last shot at them in Ontario for a while.
If I fill my buck tag before the controlled week I will post my 20g accutips for sale (and maybe even my savage 220 slugger on here)
Im just enjoying being out with the bow so much these days.
Ive got the following 20g ammo avail now - just pm me if interested
Federal Trophy Copper - 20Ga 2 3/4 inch 275 grains - 1700 fps - 3 boxes
Winchester Dual Bond - 20Ga 3 inch - 260 grains - 1850 fps - 2 boxes
Remington copper solids - 20Ga 2 2/4 inch - 1500 FPS - 1 box
Remington Premier Core Lokt Ultra - Bonded Sabot Slug - 20 Ga 2 3/4 inch - 1900 FPS - 2 Boxes
I always would buy a few extra packages of ammo that my gun likes to shoot, perhaps this is a good reminder to do so as well, its nice to have on hand, and prices are just going up and up anyways these days...
Canadian Tire in Barrie had a bunch, and they would only sell a few boxes...
they only have 20 gauge? no 12 i guess?
I honestly didn't look or ask about 12guage.
I do know CDNtire does price match and I bet that store has 200+ guns, some real nice ones too! New Sako s20, Browning wicked wing, Howa kuiu stainless rifles. The browning a5 was $200 cheaper than Cabelas down the rode.
I know where I will be shopping for now on, Gun counter guy was great let me handle every gun I wanted.

Accuracy Plus in Peterborough has a few boxes left.
