My kid landed this last weekend I have no clue what it is lol.
Any guesses? I kinda thought it was a log perch but the bottom fin is not right.

Doesn't fit any native fish species I don't think.
I'm guessing grown up baitfish, somebody dumped their minnow bucket last winter.

have a look at THE BAITFISH PRIMER app.
Log perch usually have more and thinner bars on their sides looks more like a banded killifish.
Look at the spots on tail and the shape of the second dorsal fin and second anal fin on the log perch. Attachment 40937Attachment 40938
