Do you have stands that only come alive during the pre rut and rut only? but the rest of the season an absolute ghost town?
My property is a doe haven all year long last five days we have 6 different bucks this is just blowing my mind. Seen one buck in velvet that’s it. Right now bucks are coming out at 5:22 almost set watch by them. Buddy seen 10 point last night 80yd out but he said it was a monster
I got small 7 point tonight We hunted every night it wasn’t raining and not a single dry night yet. Just need to get deer in closer if it was gun season we would have been done after half hour great action this year even to night coming back from taking deer to butcher I had 5 deer standing in my driveway 10:30. But 30 ft from a blind. Crazy year turkeys all over place. Thinking sugar is ok!!
I let this Doe walk last night took some heat for from buddies that’s ok

Yeah I was smoking att
I’m the exact same. Lots of doe most I’ve ever had. Finally at mid night last night a giant 8 point showed up on camera. Hopefully this is the start of some good pre and rut action. Tomorrow should be probably best day of season considering extremely warm today and dropping right down for Saturday morning.
Deer activity in certain areas will change with the seasons. Some food sources go offline, and trees lose their leaves in the fall. It makes sense that deer make seasonal adjustments to their feeding and travel patterns:
This is the first year I have left my cameras out all year, so the first time I see any activity outside of the season. Late Dec early Jan was my last picture of a deer, began to get pictures again around May but then the Raspberry cane grew in way too much (a whole lot more than I expected) and choked off my cameras, to the point the odd deer I did get they were right up tight against it. Things are starting to heat up, was last out there two weeks ago, at that time there were no scrapes but the cameras showed lots of deer moving through the area. Will not be able to check them again until I get out next week, hoping it keeps up and the cooler weather should start getting them going.
To the OP question- if any spot gets hot ONLY in pre-rut and rut? and nothing else happens any other time there.........., and if any experience with it!?
I do not have that kind of experience,- totally another subject is the weather /seasonal changes and /or food availability changes.
You have does, they will come.Othervise just banking on pre rut and rut location is dicey.....My 2 cents
Learned long time ago trail cams will drive you nuts.
See big buck great when 10:00pm - 4:00 am he’s a night owl.
Why he’s big
fixate on him you’ll let a lot of tasty deer walk by
im going to check cameras tomorrow well see! i too have been getting so many does on pics 6 at a time,
Buddy myself have been talking what we need is couple wood box blinds on skids.
Pull them to crossbow spots 40-50 yd then be able to skid them for control muzzleloader spots 80-100yd
Pouring rain tonight this is like a scent reset.
hah, i have a broken canopy that im turning into a portable blind for a second spot. ill try to remember to take a few pictures when its set up.
it collapses into this, already sprayed primer on it,. spray painting it green and then gunna attach my burlap to it and brush it in .
i broke the canopy in half and im gunna use half of it ( so its a V shape)

So this guys showed up tn
I have a blind on skids. Pick it up with the tractor and move it to where the deer are feeding . Like at least a 100 yard shot. old243
Pretty common. Deer (at least in my area in South west Ontario) seem to move around from bush to bush and only settle around end of October till december/end of November. My area is all small bushes 30-60 acres separated by large corn/bean/barley fields. Only time I get deer usually before late October is when I catch them passing through. Does seem to settle first though in October. Bucks don't come till November.
I’m sitting in house catching up on news drinking coffee one dog barks look out window we’re she’s looking 4 point walking across yard guess the boys are really liking my girls this year
I dont do any scouting before the season. For many years the pattern has been the same in my spot on eastern Ontario. I dont see deer in October. As food supply changes, so do the deer patterns. All deer taken in last 10 years has been in December
Well checked the cams today, might be a good year!
This is bush in-between 3 fields.
I haven't had pictures of bucks this close or this many yet!!!! 1 week!!! Attachment 40977Attachment 40978Attachment 40979Attachment 40980Attachment 40981

When we got there this morning had a nice size doe run across the field infront of us.

Had a 6 point at 50 yards this morning. Was chasing a doe around all the way up to 930am. Was amazing to watch.
I'm seeing a lot of buck sign around now the last few days. Scrape lines on field edges and a lot more tracks. Cant wait for next week, If I was a bow hunter I would be hunting now as much as possible with these cold nights.
