honestly i wouldnt be surprised if this is real, theyre crazy strong animals, i know a guy who shot a buck thing went down instantly, put another pullet through its neck to put it down and the thing would not die.
i feel really bad if thats a real video tho. friggen nuts.
thanks for sharing GW
Ugh... I hope it's not real.
Real for sure. Thread over on GOC tends to think it got cut by a farm machine like a combine or something.
man that has to be real looking at it again, watch his shoulder when he moves, i dont think many people would go through the trouble to fake this lol
i went to school for animation and stuff like that, thats alot of weeks of work if not a month to get something looking that real
Very sad to see. Not sure what to make of it. If it’s fake it should win an award. I can’t undestand how that the buck could walk, let alone stand with those injuries.
I think its extremely GROSS!!! I tend to agree, too much detail to be fake. Has to be a farm machine injury. I'd put him out of his misery if I had the chance, but sure as hell wouldn't be eating any.
It looks real. After many years of seeing deer/car collisions, that's what it looks like to me. Infection or Coyotes will kill that animal in short order.
Could be real kinda looks like my arm when I sliced it open lol. On my arm was a clean cut but the skin seperated I thought my whole forearm was gone. It was opened the size of a pop can you could see the mussels vains fat and all. When I went to the emergency I told the lady I couldn't find the rest but it was just pulled apart .
Was kind of cool to see . It bled bad for about 10 seconds then both nothing I was showing people it around the emergency room [emoji1787]. It was open for 4 hrs at the hospital didn't even bleed and left it open like that.
It's totally possible that the same happened here being high on its back it would separate and pull down just like that.
Wish I had pics of my arm. 50 stitches in a 3 and a half inch cut . It was deep .

I don’t see how it can even walk spinal damage
Of course it is real! It is definitely a real fake. Invasion of bacteria into a wound that size alone would be astronomical and enough to kill an elephant, that is not to mention the nerves damage, many major nerves that support bodily functions would be severed from the spinal cord. With the nerve damage that far back, paralysis of the hind quarter would definitely be another factor. It is certainly an imaginative artistic display. I have to wonder what was in mind of the artist, who created it. I’m surprise it didn’t come with a caption “Look What A Hunter’s Bullet Has Done.” After all the gun season for deer is just around the corner. .
You don’t stop hunting because you grow old. You grow old because you stop hunting.

Fake as it can get..lmao:D
Article from the meateater guys. Not that it makes it anymore more real or not. We will probably never know. Well other than those of you who "think" you know.
Chris Evans, a whitetail hunter from Illinois, could hardly believe what his trail cameras captured last weekend. In an October 17th photo and October 18th video, a zombie-like deer with an enormous wound passes through his property.
The buck first appeared on camera in September and was perfectly healthy then. Evans isn’t sure what caused the injury, but has been reaching out to neighboring landowners to see if they know.
“Pretty wild thing to see a deer still walking after something like this,” Evans said. “We are trying to see if we can find and kill him if he is still alive.”
whitetail buck with giant injuryThere’s no obvious explanation for the buck’s wound. Evans has heard theories ranging from broadheads and bullets to barbed wire fences and flesh-eating bacteria. His best guess is that it’s from a combine, though.
Kip Adams, the Quality Deer Management Association’s director of conservation, believes the injury is mortal. If coyotes don’t kill the whitetail, winter will.
“I can’t imagine the infection won’t get him,” Adams said. “Very sad.”

No doubt it’s real. The combine scenario sounds plausible. I know a farmer that got a big bucks antler caught in his combine. He got stopped in time, but the buck lost one side. It was sleeping in the corn row....
For all we know, the injuries may have just happened, the animal walked another hundred yards and dropped dead.
My opinion - it's fake. You can see the blurring around the "wound" indicative of a photoshopping job. Also the buck is walking around as if nothing happened - doubt it would be able to do that if it was so badly injured.
Either way its revolting and I wish I had not seen that a few days before the deer opener LOL!
If that is real, my heart sinks for that animal ...
For missing a large back muscle he's walking around without any apparent issue at all. On that point alone I suspect fake. No doubt the deer could live a while with that injury, but not without pain or obvious discomfort.
I dont see how a combine header could take that clean of a cut. Or get him in that spot of the back unless last second he tried sneaking under the header and somehow missed his rack/head.
I do think its real video with his shoulder blade moving like that. Deer are amazing tough animals and this buck might not make it long term with infection, cold weather setting in but he's able to walk around.
My wild guess is he got hit on the road by something Big, sharp and moving at a fast pace to take that big of chunk of meat. Maybe a trailer or he just got nicked by a vehicle.

The deer is walking and acting totally normal both with head and tail movements...lmao. Zero signs of distress...friggin hilarious
Look at the eyes. Zero sign of pain look at the ears up and alert
The buck is showing slight signs of pain. If you look at his face he is grimacing. Definitely not yours or my reaction to something of the same magnitude but they're just tough animals. The way the flesh reciprocates his every movement it's VERY unlikely this was photoshopped. Especially on a video that's not super high quality.
I could see a combine doing this. They often bed down and don't move until you're almost on top of them. Doesn't seem to be much blunt force trauma/broken bones like you'd see in a vehicle collision. Then again nobody knows for certain. Maybe he had a rude awakening to someone trying to take his backstraps lol.
Yes I have heard of the odd farmer in Russell going over a deer but more commonly a goose or a turkey.
Ok say it is combine old retired farmer here
Maybe a Draper head could knock deer down without cutting feet onto the belt intake auger feeder house could rip flesh off deer back before operator could shut down machine but clean cuts I don’t think so
Remember Hollywood is shuttered a lot of talented video geniuses doing nothing. But why would they spend time on this shrugs
did we ever figure out if this is real or not? anyone find any info anywhere?
with the flesh jiggling like that inside the animal, I don't know how this could be fake... I saw this a few weeks ago on a US site (Wisconsin or Michigan?)and I read the comments. Some posters suggested some sick person could have done that..Geez I hope not! Still a mystery..
Its Fake , Ive seen the same video but with hunters just walking past

Apparently the video owner has been identified

Went to the original YouTube video to watch again and this is what was posted.. an update :
"The zombie buck was found dead on the neighbors property a few days ago. Just the bones and antlers. No pictures at this time..."
Attention, youtube revenue, lots of monetary reasons...who knows. It may be real, just more factors pointing to it being a fake. Lots of unemployed CG pros out there right now.
The major thing for me that a wound that size with muscles contracting as its walking and theres no gushing blood? No blood on the fur right below the wound but a blood smear on one of the antlers. So if it was bleeding why wouldn't there be blood on any of the fur. It would have to be some sort of miracle to remove that much skin and meat and the deer not covered in blood or at least stained on the fur... I dunno, it looks really real but so do some of the latest movies Ive seen.
Someone on here previously stated they were into CG...my question is, is that possible with current CG tech? Anyone know?
Its possible. The only thing is that takes alot of money, programs, hardware and weeks if not more time to actually get everything to look and move like that, then after thats done you need to render the video out.
thats not counting the hours or weeks of time looking and gathering videos and photos of references of deer walking and then going deeper and looking at the muscles and tissue inside of a deer and how they move inside the animal.

"Yea eh" best Toronto response ever [emoji23]
Yes I was gunna bring up the point on putting it on your resume as well,
When I first looked into this tho, the person who originally posted it is a well known hunter on YouTube i believe?
If I remember right he has other trail cam videos and stuff too so idk, I've seen some strong deer and heard stories of some more crazy stuff.
I look at it this way, I've seen a deer shot with a shotgun, destroys the heart and the bullet comes out the other side, and deer still can run over 100 yards before they die without a heart.
I've also seen a deer shot in the shoulder and lay down like theyre dead and when you walk up to them they're still alive. Another 2 shots in the neck and the thing is still alive? How?!
Now watching this video is crazy 100% but the only thing that I think is crazy is that you can see its spine. If there was just a chunk out of it I wouldn't be surprised honestly but the fact that you can see its spine is what conflicts me to think it may be animated in a way or CGI

If it is a CGI they did an exceptional job and should be looking for work at the next Jurassic or horror movie... I looked at it real close to see if there was anything that would give it a yeah or nay and the motion of the shoulder blade, skin, the fur being smoothed down like it had been licked around the wound, a bit of blood on an antler but not the other... either way the video creates an empathy for the animal and a curiosity about its fate or its reality and discussion. If it is CGI and is part of a promotion for a monster in the woods movie it has and will create much more discussion.
It would make a good start for a movie, hunter shows to world, people go to investigate or help the animal and ?? Carnosaurus (something smaller than T-Rex), Alien.... well the TBD makes the groups disappear and as more and bigger groups are sent then the military a gateway, alien invasion .... you get the idea.
If it is real I hope the poor thing is out of its misery!
