What is oil is recommended for frying up fillets ? When I see photos or TV fishing shows there seems to be about 2 inches of oil that the fillets swim in...this seems to me to be at least 1 large bottle of cooking oil.... is that about right ?....I go with my 25 year old son & we fry up only 1 3 lb Pike or a couple of smaller walleye or bass for our shore lunch.
