Great story and great bear! My Mom's family came from Powassan; I used to hunt on Genessee Rd. when I lived in Borden.
Enjoyed your story and pictures. I was born in Powassan and grew up in Loring.
nice young bear - ideal eating size! just a suggestion - gut it before loading it into the boat or truck. that's what they make buckets and hoses for. Makes it much easer to handle! An ungutted bear is like trying to move 200# of wet oat meal in a rubber bladder!
Don't feel bad about overturning the canoe; Been there -Done That! (also with a bear!
nice job, and great pics.
Really enjoyed your story species. Congratulations and thanks.

SOunds like an awesome adventure. Congrats
The first thing I learned after I shot my first bear is that they are very tough to move around and have nothing to grab on to lol. No antlers like deer, and their fur is slippery.
Great story
