Deer can get hit by cars too
You know what,Jaycee, the more I think of what he told you,the more I think the guy was shooting you a line of shyte. I'd believe Coyote attacks ripping their haunches or bellies (that's how they attack) or vehicle hits, but, that many hunters hitting and missing Deer with buck shot and not retrieving the Deer, nope, sorry,I ain't buyin' it.
What is your ideal firearm and round? I bet there is lots of evidence to show that it can be used improperly and wound game without recovery.
I think that there are a pile of guys that have an opinion based on improper use, the same as the guys who say a 30-30 cannot kill a moose or that dogs should be illegal, that large groups driving game should be illegal, etc.
I hope you enjoy attacking other hunters for legal and perfectly ethical practices.
Buy it or not ?? that/s up to you!
As far as what he told me, why and for what reason would he have to make up stories and lie???
I have known him for about 40 years, very honest, a man of integrity, which is lost on a few here.
Why don't you give me the particulars of your name and address, which I will pass on to him and you can tell him face to face yourself that he is full of shyte!!!:):)
He does travel around quite a bit so he no doubt would drop in on you.
I have noticed that the Anti buck shot crowd has nothing against bows but deer are seen with arrows sticking out of them. You also sound just like an Anti gun person who says a gun killed someone ban all guns. You actually do sound like that.
Tell me if I shoot at a deer 100 yards away with a bow think it's going to be a good hit, that deer will walk around with an arrow in it for a while same as a buckshot deer???
Buckshot works when used at the correct distance.
While i agree with the comment about our current Governement being "not supportive" of hunting etc....i still think what i mentioned would be a proper way of improving shooting skills of the general hunting population.Ranges are not needed for many shooters today-they could practice wherever is legal(as they do it as we speak),but would need to do a test at some proper place. We have still enough Clubs and ranges they would probably happily participate in testing(of course for some $...but nothing is free nowadays)
I agree,in principle, that everyone can gain from a few rounds of target practice periodically, but,in practicality,it would be exceedingly difficult to do any shooting outside a certified range (of which there's very few,at least,in southern Ontario where 75% of all hunters live) with long waiting lists to get in. I really don't think we need to be giving Liberal leftist governments anything else to beat us over the head with, either. If every hunter had to "qualify" with several different firearms every season and were restricted to where they could take the tests,I shudder to think of the horrendous added costs, government bureaucracy and aggravation that would be created. That would be the death knell for all hunting in this province except for the uber rich like it is in Europe. :(
