    Default Sun's out, bird out!

Went for a walkabout near the highlands on my lunch break. Spotted a few ruffle. They must know our season is over since they weren't in the mood for flushing and instead chose to calmly distance a few meters and strike a pose. With the snow dump and recent thaw every fallen tree has a large cavity underneath its the perfect cover. I followed their prints to one such home and took mental notes. I'll be back I told them.

Obviously not a bird to hunt, but I saw 10 + Bohemian Waxwings yesterday.

Trust. They are all feasting right now. Saw two groups of gobblers, a family of deer too. Just using this mosquito free time to check some new area out. Snow makes it so easy to spot activity.

Around here the area from Calabogie down to Lanark has always been called Lanark Highlands, there's even a township. This area does have a history of many Scottish settlers though for sure.

It's a mostly boggy Rocky area in the Kawarthas! Haliburton highlands or Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park.
