Video: The Story of the Whitetail Buck Nicknamed 'One Side' (Ottawa)
Hello All,
Although I have crossed paths with hundreds of whitetail bucks over the years, there was something special about 'One Side.'
Here's his full story, told through text, images, and trail cam captures and film. Enjoy...
Cheers,
Justin

Very cool.......
Dropping the antler thing, definitely a once in lifetime event...amazing catch...
I also liked him bedded at 3 minute mark, think it is just beautiful... And still a fighter even without his antlers 6:50 mark.
Thanks for sharing, a very good watch

Very cool Justin and well put together... Loved it...along with that very special capture of him shedding his right side...

Great video. Curious how he lost one side. Must have taken quite a hit, maybe a vehicle strike? It'll be interesting too see if you have him this summer if the antler forms normally on the broken side.

Yep, that's the unknown. My two guesses are a hard tree strike or being clipped by a car. He did naturally shed that little 'nub' a few days after he dropped his one antler (I searched high and low but never found it) so I think next year's rack should be back to normal, but who knows. The cams will be out this summer to hopefully capture him if he shows again.
