Default i think i figured out what i seen last year.

okay, so the last controlled hunt from last year, i seen the biggest deer ive seen in my life. bigger than any buck ive seen or doe.

i have been trying to figure out what ive seen and i think ive came to the conclusion after seeing picture and videos of the specific species.

    characteristics that I remember.

1 solid colour (no throat patch) burgundy reddish

    BIG solid thick plump body

    thin thin neck

    small head

    long snout

big thin ears with almost a black outline to them

the hair on it also looked different that usual shorter or thinner maybe or a mix of the two

    and big big black eyes.

i think i have concluded that i seen a Doe red deer?

if anyone has any other input feel free to add it.

this is the closest picture i can find to what i seen that day.

Any game farms in your area? Could have been an escapee.

If you're too big to do the little things that count, you're too little to do the big things that really count.

Haha... yes that could have been interesting.

Quite a few years ago I came upon three or four weird looking deer standing in the middle of the road in the fog, almost hit them. Their colouration was all wrong. Turned out they had escaped the farm one line over.

Are you sure it wasn't a doe elk? I believe there is an elk farm near Shelbourne or could of been a wild one?

    likely escapee from a farm.
there was a massive buck i shot at this fall. biggest rack i ever saw must have been 30 pts. i thought i was shooting 100 yds and later ranged it to 150-175 and must have shot right between the legs. we called him the elk and i never got a pic again. legends never die and there are some really big cool looking deer around these parts.

just down the road from orangeville there's an exotic farm that keeps caribou and at one point camels. does a camel fit your description? :P
