Default The Forum over the Weekend

We hear a lot about how bad the forum has become, but rarely do we take note when the forum runs as it was intended.

I think it needs to be pointed out that this past weekend was the way the forum should be. Lots of stories, questions and tips on equipment purchases and things to prep for the upcoming season. Even the Off topic area was able to have relevant and informative discussions without the usual drama.

Have to say the content and discussions held on the forum over the weekend were really quite enjoyable. There was little to no bickering, no nonsense posts and no purposely controversial post. Doesn't happen to often anymore.

It also needs to pointed out that this was largely due to the fact that a couple of the regulars trouble makers were noticeably absent from the board over the weekend with their usual nonsense and purposeful trolling for attention.

As we can't control their activity when they are here, maybe the Moderators/Admin should take note. It goes beyond just telling us to just ignore those members who continually post provocative and controversial comments just to stir the pot. The forum is much better when those posts just aren't allowed to be there.

A little more intervention by those who have volunteered to be moderactors is needed. The older members on here know that the forum runs much better when the moderators are more actively involved in upkeeping the rules.

The past weekend should be noted as the way the forum should be, an enjoyable form of entertainment with like minded people.

    Just saying....

The forum has a hunt camp atmosphere feel to it as I would best describe it at this time.
Like minded individuals meet up, share information and accomplish a common goal.

x2-after a week or so ,when i put few "influential" members on Ignore (not mentioning names)my overall forum experience improved exponentially.

I think-it is just a human nature to reply to something, which is not fitting right, or challenging............ almost like a kneejerk reaction.

I guess because none of those you do not wish to hear from, could be bothered to respond to the obviously inflammatory post, 'Well this explains everything.'...... Even after you yourself Mp, in post #2 on that thread, challenged those, that you supposedly do not want to hear from, to respond. Lol.... poop disturber...... Bunch of bobble heads all nodding in agreement, is what I see. Not a discussion about politics, but a conservative circle jerk.

The weather was nice on the weekend. Better moods all around and people spent less time at the keyboard. The gun club was however packed.

Well let’s test the fallacy of that.

Above this, theres yet another thread criticizing Ford and the lockdowns. Just one of many. In the politics forum there’s threads criticizing Con Leadership, RTL, a recent vote on climate change, etc. Without the usual stuff. Would seem pretty apparent Cons are actually capable of more than just Conservative love ins and circle jerks...

Aside from the obvious “you reap what you sow”. Has it crossed your mind one reason so many are hostile towards Liberals. Is again cause and effect?

    Ontario 2006-2017
JT and the scandals/damage he’s wreaking...

There were plenty of threads criticizing Harper as well back in the day. But is it possible one reason things seem so one sided is because both Ford and Harper have given people less reason to gripe? Be “hostile” about?

There are definitely times when you are Gilroy are baited. Or occasions when some will “yeah but Trudeau”. Say something about it then....

But as Canadaman accurately pointed out. “There goes the weekend”.

And on the 8th day God made The Forum and saw that it was good. Let not man sully nor degrade the purity of it's purpose to enlighten the minds of others.
Good Luck & Good Hunting !
