Myself, I took a couple of turkeys & deer while saying in my mind "well, just let me put my smoke down please, & then will talk"; followed by a boom! lol

Not much of turkey hunter, but once i read ,based on turkey eye and hearing being excellent-it turkey could smell as good as they could see and hear, they would be non huntable.

I shot lots of big game with a cigarette in my mouth. I did play the wind though.

Depends on what you are smoking ? That funny stuff makes me fall asleep but a regular tobacco ... no problem. Otherwise if done safely ie; fire hazards go for it ! Albeit first and last light is a bad time to fire one up as either the flick of a Bic or the glow of your smoke every time you suck on it will give you away .

During a deer hunt with friends, we were on individual stands. One guy had a smoke in one hand, coffee in the other, deer walks out, puts coffee down, shoots deer dead? For years, I've been very careful with scent but for that guy it worked.

I just happened to bring my first one home after having a smoke in a blind.

But the wind was in the face though, so don't know if it reached the deer

No need for smoke when you have edibles.

No,but, they hear chip bags and gigglin' a mile away.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....
