Yellowstone area guide killed by Grizzly

Appears he tried to use his bear spray to some extent but impossible to know the details.
The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur.
Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.

idk why i always think yellowstone is in canada lol .
seems really unlucky, they say the bear was most likely protecting a moose carcass 50 meters away.

I can't believe there would be an unarmed Yank going into a high risk bear area without carrying a gun for protection. You don't even need a permit to open carry a pistol on your hip in that state. Probably would have saved his life.

Reminds me of this guy. When you tempt fate and play with full grown teddy bears....well.......
Tim Treadwell (born Timothy William Dexter; April 29, 1957 – October 5, 2003) was an American bear enthusiast, environmentalist, and documentary filmmaker and founder of the bear-protection organization Grizzly People. He lived among coastal brown bears (Ursus arctos), which he called grizzly bears (U. a. horribilis), in Katmai National Park in Alaska for 13 summers.
At the end of summer 2003, at 46 years old, his girlfriend Amie Huguenard and he were killed and almost fully eaten by a 28-year-old bear, whose stomach was later found to contain human remains and clothing.

When in grizzly country, you need eyes in the back of your head. Some folks believe that, in elk areas, grizzlies are learning that gun shots means gut piles i.e. dinner bells.
