Like I said, the Libs have considered it an opportunity, look how they shut down WE Charity, SNC, Jody W.R., OIC, C-21 and now C-10.... all of which in an independent media would be nightly news over and over and should have huge protests and with the NDP/Bloc kissing butt they can push through alot!

Heck it seems Trudeau likes lockdowns and restrictions

How many businesses will be open when they are done with this anyway, between the closures, not being able to get staff (CERB or work...) and restrictions there will be alot of going out of businesses sales to watch for.
Stalin and/or Mao would have implemented mandatory testing of the entire population right at the start of the pandemic. Positive result would mean death sentence.

If we read those "conditions",there is an IF in every Phase..........At the end of each phase, health system indicators will be reviewed before moving to the next step.
Regardless if the threshold of vaccination % is met or not.
    So ordered our fearless leader.

Meanwhile in Europe, countries with 50 % vaccination declare ALL CLEAR, and they go back to"almost"normal life(still some minor conditions-mostly related to large gatherings).
No masks, all open-life as we knew it.
And while they "propagate"vaccine-they do NOT push and do not make it CONDITION.

Never mind USA-we all know the situation there by now.....
The "If" was put in there to ensure things would open up " All in God's Good Time."

A good plan has contingencies and flexibility. The plan needs both if hospitalizations and ICU occupancy are out of control even if the vaccination thresholds are met.

My issue with the Ontario plan is that it is extremely cautious with no apparent consideration of speeding up reopening if numbers are reached sooner than forecast.

I don't mind if the government is being extremely cautious but if the vaccinations move along a bit faster than expected I would expect they would react with sooner openings. I'm at the top of the list when it comes to detesting this shopping at curbside. I just pissed away 20 bucks on a non-matching color paint because I couldn't get inside and compare the actual code numbers.

Me too. Had a package I ordered ( when normally I would have just gone and bought it) stolen from my porch this week.

Nah.... they flattened it in China by telling the health units not to report it and as we saw with the ones that issued the early warning, they just disappeared or in a few cases died from "COVID". According to my inlaws their parents won't take the Chinese vaccine, the same one Justlied wanted to get for us, because they don't trust the quality..... the return to normal will be when the Fed govt tells the provinces to say we are good.

Depending on who is shipping it they do have a tendency to drop and run and not even hit the door bell, some delivery tracking lets you get updates like when it is out for delivery or delivered. I had an entire grocery delivery disappear, the picture of the door they dropped it off in front of wasn't even the same colour as my door and they often are missing an item.

As far as my renovation nothing has changed - I had guys working here for the last 3 weeks - demo, framing, drywall and taping. I just finished installing the pot lights & the lighting control. Last week we went to look at and purchase the hardwood flooring, and ceramic tiles - stores are just doing it by app't now. Tomorrow we are going to look at slabs for the counter top.

People are done with the lockdown and have found ways to work around the lockdown and keep their business afloat - safely. I for one am fine with doing business with them because I am not stalling my project while Doug locks down the entire province because of Peel and Toronto.

His opening plans are based on strong arming people to get the vaccine. The second part will be vaccine passports. You may be required to provide one to go to a hockey game, get on an airplane, cross the boarder, or even enter a store.

Must be expensive with the price of lumber.

Vaccine Passports will not likely be a requirement for Canadians to travel in Canada, but the Government cannot control what other countries demand. If the other countries demand a Vaccine passport Canada will have to issue them or nobody will be allowed to travel. If you want to travel outside of the US and Canada you will probably need it.

If you read the fine print from other countries when they discuss vaccine passports, it's always vaccine passports or negative test. The negative test is always in the fine print or hidden in the article.

In both these news clips you can hear them discuss international travel by vaccinated individuals (vax card) or those with negative tests.
