we put our guns in our cases or socks and bungie cord them to the front or back rack.
This is also what I do. I have a nice padded soft case that I use all the time for this.

I ended up with a polaris 570 touring. it was the only 2 up I could find in covid market.

trying to decide if I should get a gun boot ? they all say it scratches the gun.

or the rack holders ? but doesnt the gun need to be in a case in a vehicle ? also branches and other stuff might scratch the gun ?

or maybe a DIY plastic gun case zip tied to the rack ?

    TIA
I have a kolpin gun boot and mount on my 570 and have never had a problem..and we access our camp by bush trails..atv access only

I prefer the Kolpin gun boot as it protects the rifle from damage and dirt. Retrieving the rifle is simple and no tangle of bungee cords to contend with. I tried the Rhino grips but I didn’t like that my rifle was exposed to brush and dusty/muddy trail conditions.

The only real problem with the boot is that some guys get a little complacent and forgot to put the boot cover back on all the time. Had a few times that water got in and soaked into the lining and it got moldy etc.

One guy found an ant colony had moved in during the off season..

    Highly appreciate everyone advice.

one problem with the 2up ATV is the limited storage space, specially at the rear. with all my other stuff, I hardly can fit my gun case. Im gonna look into adding a rack at the back as well.

gun boot sounds like the best option, wont take up too much room on the rear or front rack, more accessible than bungee cording. and protection for the firearm. I can probably make a use of it in winter for ice fishing too.

This works for me, takes a 28" shotgun with 2 inches to spare. I added a little foam in the end to protect the muzzle and sight, even in wet weather, it stays dry in there. It comes with a full length foam sock. Bolted onto the rear rack, no floppy or rattles.

It's the same model I use and it works pretty well. The only thing is the mount is quite high and takes a beatin' from low hanging branches. I have the chain saw case that attaches to the same mount.

This is pretty much how mine is but I mounted farther forward and pointed down. I wish I had the one with the lid attached like yours, the 2 piece is a pain to get open without making noise.

Yes it is, they have 2 different mounts, mine can be adjusted with a big knob and splined joint.
