Heading out Saturday for opening day for waterfowl on Rondeau Bay with my two boys. I purchased a Winchester SX4 semi 20 gauge today to treat myself to a new shotgun for opening day. Looking forward to on game results using Score 3" # 2 steel.

Good luck to all that are hunting the opener

Good luck! I'll be scouting a few creeks for muskrats at the crack of dawn and I'll by carrying some #2 if I bump into a duck. There are not many geese yet and they prefer the green fields right now in my area. Once the corn is cut and the numbers increase, I'll be doing a few geese hunts and make some pepperettes.

As usual not may birds yet but we did take a few teal and wood ducks. The new Winnie 20 gauge worked great.
Cycled like butter with a real good pattern using the modified choke. My oldest is considering buying the same gun only in 12 gauge.....he was impressed

I went out to a private pond just off Rice lake. I was limited out by 7 am, a woodie, blue and green wing teal, a wigeon, and mallards. The following day I was one short of a limit (bad shooting!) but added a goose. Modest amount of shooting from Rice lake, but nothing like the old days, when it sounded like an artillery barrage that went on for an hour. The birds decoyed perfectly, and I think some even responded to my calling. Beautiful day, great to experience another opening day in Ontario.
