If you want to discuss covid and rabbies start another thread in the covid forum
Just curious if you're going to remain consistent with that approach with all threads and all topics?
Serious question. If you're not consistent, you're being discriminatory.
EDIT: MODERATOR FINSFURSFEATHERS HAS STARTED THIS THREAD IN MY NAME, DESPITE MY REQUESTS THAT HE REPRESENT HIMSELF AS THE OP. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN HOUSEKEEPING OF THREAD TOPICS.
*Edit*
This thread is held as a guide to help curate further discussion against censorship and handling off-topic topics in the off-topic section. It is worth noting that GW11 did not start this thread but rather, was imported from another one.

Were the "off-topic" posts in this thread actually reported or did you remove them after reading them and deciding for yourself they didn't fit? Either way, I'll PM JoePa and find out.
I'm having a hard time seeing how comparing vaccines in a vaccine related thread is any different than comparing rifle calibres or action type. For example, I don't remember seeing any threads about the 270 being edited by the mods to ensure only the 270 was discussed.

I think there's bound to be crossover. The whole point of the COVID-19 thread was to try and alleviate COVID fatigue. Eventually we'll be able to liquidate it to an off-topic item, in the future, when it's not as prevalent. One hopes.

The problem isn't the crossover of topics, it's people in authority positions believing they know what's best for people to hear.

The problem with people is believing they know what's best for other people to hear.
As I stated this thread started on a discussion of rabies period.
Those that want to introduce covid discussion were instructed start a new discussion in the appropriate forum.
Censorship and personal opinion have no bearing as you are free to discuss at will as long its pertinent to the thread and in the right forum.
Had the Op posted this thread in the covid forum there would be no issue as it was posted in the off topic section have to follow the rules of that forum.

It'll be interesting to see how enforcement of the concept of only one topic per threat will last HaHa..

So, tell us why you did not simply relocate the whole thread if in your humble opinion it was heading into the wrong direction instead of selectively deleting posts? It is routinely done so why the exception this time?

Well I think you've decided to take on an awful lot by trying to keep every thread specifically on topic. Funny that you decided to take up that position on a thread about vaccines, almost like someone touched a nerve. Allowing personal bias to intrude when you're holding a position of authority is a very slippery slope.
Good luck with your endeavor and don't take it personally when we hold you to what you've stated here.
