maybe the CERB was just a test run.
They can test this all they want <sarcasm off>. The question is where are they going to get the money for it? Raise taxes? Eventually, there will be nothing to tax. Is that when oil and gas development restarts?

The Village Idiot has learned the Bank of Canada is willing to put on a night shift to print up all the money he needs. Last I heard he spending $45 million a day he doesn't have.
Whats another $85 billion a year ??
Inflation will turn Canada into a socialist failure like Venusuala, like all the other countries where it has failed.

Where is the drive or the desire to do something better, upgrade ones skills to get a better job to make more money or have a better quality of life? Scary that some people think that is the responsibility of the government to do this.
I am glad our forefathers did not have this mentality because we would still have gas lighting and driving a horse and carriage.
I hear ya. There are fewer and fewer people who think like that - and the ones who do are paying for the millions that don’t.

Universal Income Philosophy....... Give them money, they start feeling good about themselves, they will want more so they will go to work to get it....
Not sure whoever came up with this way of thinking, but it sure wasn't a middleclass worker.....

I think it shouldn’t be taxpayers footing the bill. If large companies/corporations are automating their businesses (replacing humans with robotics, etc.) then they are directly responsible for displacing the working population and should pay a share of the burden. Example, the self checkout, most manufacturing jobs, etc.

So what happens in 20 years time and nobody wants to work or not enough people are even trained (Actually there's not even enough now).
Maybe Canada can get welfare from some other country (Under Trudeau probably the Chinese)
