    Default Vanilla extract for deer?

Earlier in september I had some deer checking out my bear baits which I use tons of extract on. I recently heard of people using vanilla extract for deer. Is it effective enough to use or would it be ineffective against more mature or pressured deer?

I did experiment with vanilla extract but had more luck with simple table molasses poured on a stump.

Someone on here was recommending Strawberry (?) Kool Aid mix (I think), he says it works well. I was wanting to give it a try this year.

Raspberry just because deer know the smell from wild raspberries. And it does bring them in I throw 1/2 box out my blind when wind is not the best

Thanks for the clarification and even better, we have a lot of wild raspberry bushes around here...way too many....so that confirms my decision to give it a try.

I tried vanilla extract as an attractant one year. I also had some apples and corn there so can't say for sure if it made a difference.
Planning to try try Anise Oil with a bit of corn this year.
Anise Oil for the long distance signal to say new bait is dropped and corn to hold them for a minute when they arrive.

All my pears and apples dropped and rotted early this year except for the McIntosh apples which looked and tasted amazing still in mid October. Unfortunately the last of the apples in the back yard were placed at the stand this past weekend for final pre-bait.

That product called Nose Jammer is predominantly vanillin with some other scents mixed in. It gets real good reviews. Spray it on your boots and around the base of the tree before climbing up. https://nosejammer.com/

I havenít had much success with scents of any kind ( Iíve tried a ton of them ).
As it my understanding vanilla is used as a cover scent as opposed to an attractant. Does it work ? Who can really say if any scent works or not.
Personally I think scents for hunting are like flashy fishing lures. They are meant to catch fishermen more than fish. You should see my tackle box. Lmao.
