What an opener! Been training for this the past year and what a day it was! Opening day was Kouche’s first duck hunt! I wish I could say he picked up his first birds perfectly but he decided to figure them out for a while before bringing them back. As he was picking up one bird he’d drop it to chase a wounded drake then go after the third while ducks were pouring in over head! Yes I had to go grab two and rush him back to the blind just in time to load up and drop three more! Then it started again, he’d run and chase and figure things out. I couldn’t ask for anything more from this young guy! Today I’m proud to say he has over fifty birds under his belt and is progressing perfectly! Chasing divers in two foot waves, never giving up and is steady during the whole hunt! Some fine tuning and he’ll definitely be a great retriever! For now he’s the best companion I’ve ever had and I look forward to the years of friendship we will share! Attachment 42755
worst thing about limiting out in six minutes is having to go home and do chores afterwards.
