Video: Whitetail Buck Chows Down on Cedar (Ottawa, Nov. 28)
Hello All,
Ran into a familiar face earlier this week, the buck I named 'One Side.' He was snacking on a felled cedar tree. Shot this video from about 25 feet away, before he turned, put nose to the ground, and walked away in search of does.
Gear: Canon 70D; Sigma 150-500mm
Cheers,
Justin

In my experience, at this spot, come December they switch almost exclusively to cedar. All of the leaves have dropped that they were previously feeding on, and although we don't much snow cover yet (compared to this time previous years) their diet changes to twigs and cedar. If I was to put a cedar pile down it would be gone in a day. Saying that, there are no agricultural fields around here, so they are limited to what to feed on in the forest.

Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully it the next few weeks I can get a better video from the front, so we can see how awesome those antlers look!
