    Default Short Eared Owl

Taken this afternoon 12 feet from my living room window. Technically we are north of their year round range so somewhat uncommon this time of year. Forgive the pic quality it was taken through the glass window (2 panes) with a phone and snowing at the time:

He/she hung around for about 15 minutes and was certainly studying me through the glass. There is a nesting pair on our property that i have a funny relationship with. They have a habit of stealing my rabbit decoy right in front of me. I set up to hunt coyote with a rabbit decoy. I than begin calling, imitating an injured cottontail. Owl than appears and flies away with my decoy. Sometimes i find the decoy discarded in the woods but more often than not it means going online and ordering a replacement. Cost of doing business and actually quite enjoyable to watch them gracefully swoop in and grab it.

Nice to catch a pic of them..they are usually in flight by the time I see them..

Great demo pic on how well 'Sky" camo works. I have a pair of coveralls in Sky pattern for when I'm in a tree stand late in the year...(Real Tree sucks in a bald tree Haha).

No offense taken. Had a feeling it might be.
