What do you think was actually going on here?

If there are any Goodfellas fans here, I immediately thought of the opening scene of the movie while I was reading the article .

I do believe it is a plausible story.
I came across a scene a few years ago where a deer had been struck by a vehicle and a small group of people had gathered around it.
The animal was bedded and in obvious shock as it was trembling.
Some guy on a bicycle comes along and proceeds to take his coat off and placed it on the back of the deer as he believed that it was shaking due to be cold.
One person was trying to call a vet to come over and help the animal.

I left the scene shortly after and do not know what became of the deer but thinking back it is quite possible the same scenario could have occurred...lol

I can see that if someone hits a deer on the highway and it looks like its dead why not take it home and butcher it - you are suppose to call the game commission and get permission to keep it - no sense wasting the meat by letting it lay on the side of the road - Pennsylvania is one of the top states for road kills of deer each year

Hilarious! That's what I would actually expect to happen with a live deer waking up in a vehicle.

I wanted to post a link to the opening scene of Goodfellas, but I didn't think it was appropriate.

Sooo....I guess it's common down south for people to put "dead" deer in their cars? Who knew?

The worst thing I encountered was when a buck tried to jump my next door son's metal fence - it got impaired on the points on the top of the fence pickets - it was hanging upside down - a township worker driving by saw it and notified my son - we shot the deer and I got a wheel barrel to haul it home - butchered it and had some deer meat - called the Game Commission and told them what happened - isn't it routine to be notified by the OPP about a road kill if you put your name on a list - that happens in Alaska with moose kills -
