I truly believe that the harder it hurts, the better the ride was. I've got a 12 y/o that's starting the slow down. This is going to be the hardest hurt yet. Sorry for your loss!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your condolences and support. I've been running hounds for all most 30 years now and prior to that trained and field trialed Black Labs for close to 10 years here in Canada and the US. Actually had 2 FTCH of which one was a dual champion before he was 2 1/2 years old. Over those years I've had to put a fair number of them down and also have had a fair number pass away here at home. It never gets easier saying goodbye to a friend and loyal companion for the number of years that they put out the effort to chase, chase and tree, or to retrieve game that had been brought down to please their caretaker, and and home giver. Can't use the word Master, just not appropriate.

I don't have near as many dogs now as I once had and I'll keep following what I have left to a tree for as long as I can. I feel as though I've been blessed for all the years that they've given me the pleasure of watching them work and do their thing, and also blessed with the number of outstanding dogs that I've had the honor to work with and train.

    Again thanks...

Sounds like she got to hunt her whole life. That's one heck of a great life. Thanks to you.
