    Default 1st spring turkey

Got to the farm just after 5 pm, plan was to walk the outer edges of the field in hopes of spotting a turkey before it spots me. I make my way around and about an hour later, just as I am about to crest the top of a cut corn field, I spot a few turkeys about 60 yrds out. I quickly drop down, grab my jake decoy out of my vest and crawl to the top crest of the hill and start fanning. It doesn't take long before the biggest bird starts heading up the hill toward me. Soon all his friends started coming..... I waited until he got to 12yds or so before dropping him in his tracks.... It was a very cool hunt... Big bird with big spurs and a big bird.... Tail was missing a feather or two but a big spurred bird
