Default Ottawa area fishing spots, assistance please.

    Good afternoon all!

I'll be travelling to Ottawa next week with my wife. While she's doing work related stuff, I'll be fishing! Don't really care what I get into but may just target pike and/or carp. I have done some research thanks to the www and was leaning towards Dow's Lake or Mooney's Bay unless I get some different information from someone on here who doesn't mind helping me out. I will have a vehicle so can pretty much go anywhere. Also, I will only have one day.

Thanks in advance for any assistance. If you don't mind helping but would rather not put it out to the world a direct message will also work.

    Thanks again!

    Hi,
I wish I had seen your post earlier!

In case you ever return, we have a lot of good fishing here. Dow's lake and the canal hold some really carp, as well as some decent bass. Another good stretch of river would be the Rideau downstream from Hog's Back Falls.

Shore fishing the Ottawa can be a good producer as well - you'll catch any number of species - catfish, pike, bass, walleye, etc.

How did you end up doing when you were in Ottawa?

    Cheers,
    Neil
