Anyone fish beaver ponds or storm ponds?

Who has had success in these ponds or any other unconventional fishing hole?

I have a couple beaver ponds that I go to for specks in the spring after the freshet slows down. Unless the water is cool, specks will go deep and most ponds aren't considered deep? Depends on the topography and waterway feeding the pond.

I've done really good for Brook trout in beaver ponds in small creeks in Northern Ontario.
Mepps silver Aglia #0 or 1 with tail and half a worm was always productive.
