Maybe I am missing something - I do usually check out the forum early in the morning with my first cup of coffee and my brain is not at full speed yet.
Thanks

Morning Rod-enjoy your coffee this lovely morning.
Not asking members ..........but putting squarely the onus on members to make this forum live again.
You are here for a long time,if you look back .....you will see .

Morning Again
I think I am awake now and thought I would check in one more time before going out. I'm good with anything that works so I think we are on the same wave length. Just have to be careful when trying to make people do something rather then having them want to do it. BTW Every morning is a lovely morning. Enjoy it.

Not complaining! It's Sunday morning and it seemed to take forever to make it through all the new posts today. Mind you I do look and mostly read almost all new posts but it gave me hope in that things are picking up.

Its not a firearms world that is only your perception of the world. Your on a hunting and fishing forum and firearms are a small component in what is discussed here. I am sure there are lots of firearms, gun
forums that would satisfy your needs. I can see you being upset on what you view as a GUN OUTDOOR FORUM where you get free grammer lessons. LOL

Testing failed lol.
cn32226-eng.pdf
Anyway that's the pdf file number from public safety Canada and the failed experiment on gun Control posted in 2003. I was just trying to figure out how to send a pdf file you can copy and past that and it will take you there.

I just took some time and read this thread, it’s changed greatly since it was run by Ray Blades and later Jay Callaghan both of whom I had the pleasure of meeting in person. Jay accompanied us to White Lake one year.
We had get togethers like the couple that Auger organized on Gull Lake. We didn’t catch a lot of fish, but a good time was had by all.
Woody1948 organized the White Lake trips that a few of us still go. On those trips I got to meet the likes of Woody1948, Big Jack, Captain Cotton, Big Daddy, Cantcatchacold, Blue Ice, Screwbs, Spoolrunner, Big Mac. I still hunt with FJB. Some people were on the fishing forum, some were on the hunting forum others were on both.
Some of those I still keep contact with through Facebook, Messenger, Instagram … .
The only one I ever met from this forum who I know has passed was Lurch and that’s over 10 years now. Wayne was a great guy.
The rise and fall of this forum has been cyclical and gotten out of hand at times causing people to leave and form other forums of which there were a few, many of those forums have faded into obscurity, but this one has always seemed to find a way to survive. Many people from the past have left because they grew tired of some of the fighting.
I remember when Jay was in charge he started a special thread for politics. Although some of you may not like it, in certain instances it has a direct effect on hunting and fishing on both the provincial and federal levels. Even OFAH who run this forum get involved in politics. I believe in fighting to keep my rights against beaucrats who choose to try and take them away. Unfortunately, not everyone is as passionate.
After a time people became fed up with the trolls (ie. Jamie) constant fighting and overreach by a few of the Mods.
This forum is only as good as the people who take the time to post in it and help others who have questions no matter how trivial.
I came into the forum last night for the first time in years and was surprised my account was still active. Out of curiosity I decided to look around only to find it’s a far cry from its hay day.
It would be nice to see it return to its former glory, but only the members can do that.
A bad day hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work.

Excellent post and I am glad you took the time to take the time to put it up. "Only the members can do that" is the perfect ending. Thanks.

Just finished my morning run through of OOD and it seemed to take a lot longer then it has in a long time. I did not count the number of posts I read but it sure did not look like the forum was dead. Nice to see.
On a side note I sure do miss seeing pictures posted for items being sold - a direct result of the difficulty in posting photos.
