    Default Backcountry Camping w/ Waterfowling?

A group of friends and I go out backcountry camping every year in the fall and we'd like to turn it into a waterfowling trip this year.

Does anyone know a site that isn't too remote (we do have to portage our gear in, after all!) and has some nearby waterfowling opportunities? Hopefully within 4 hrs drive of the GTA, but we could consider something further away! Thanks!

Check out some crown land. Just don’t expect a big water decoy setting hunt. Aim for a run and gun style. Lots of small lakes or marshes to jump shoot. Lots of teal and woodies day roosting in beaver ponds. Once you learn a spot, it can be lots of fun. Depending on the time of year, you could do waterfowl and upland together. It would make for some great memories and good eats.

    Good luck

Any crown land, but I have found there are wayyyy more migratory game like Ducks and geese near Ottawa then I will find anyplace around Algonquin. But never hurts to bring your gun. Heck I bring a gun anytime when I am camping (I only camp crown). I bring the 22's in the Spring and Summer for plinking and shotguns + 22's in the fall for grouse, ducks, geese, bunnies.
