One thing I know for sure, don't leave your beer cooler unattended. Probably #1 stolen item haha

A few weeks ago my oldest son took his 7 yr old boy on a camping/canoe trip to McCrea Lake, they made a portage and had to make a couple of trips to get their gear from one end of the portage to the other. On their return trip for another load my son noticed his paddle was gone, this was a custom paddle he had made from cherry and walnut and was quite special to him. Aside from the fact that a cherished item had been stollen it left them with only one paddle to get home with.
Even though it upset him greatly it did offer him an opportunity to teach the little guy a valuable lesson.

Over the 30 plus years that we have been camping I have had just 2 things stolen.. a fishing net that was in my boat which I left beached overnight, and a case of beer that was sitting by my travel trailer door.

Air tags actually beep any time they are moved and the device they are linked to have not been nearby for an extended period of time. This is done purposely to alert people that they are being tracked without consent. I believe if you update to the latest firmware there is an option to make that stop now.

"Air tags actually beep any time they are moved and the device they are linked to have not been nearby for an extended period of time.". Not aware of this. I have an airtag on my dog's collar.
Iphones will warn you if they think an airtag is following you (i.e. someone is using one to track you). That is how it would appear to an iphone if someone stole something with an airtag on it. When my daughter walks my dog, she gets warned about the airtag following here.

The only problem that I can see with air tags is try and get a signal in many parts of northern Ontario. While they have greatly expanded cell service in places like the Hwy 17 corridor, it doesn’t extend very far from there.
Case in point, we were up at White Lake during the forest fires in early June, none of us had any problems getting a signal at the launch, but only one guy could get a signal 8 miles down the lake where we were camping on an island. I’m not sure who his provider was, but he was calling the Provincial Park on a daily basis to get an update on the fires.
One thing I learned living in northern Ontario is don’t become too dependent on cell phones as they’re very limited due to the magnetics and the terrain.
We’ve been lucky as to have never had anything stolen by humans, but bears are another story. Paul had some of his beer and munchies stolen from his cooler 3 nights in a row. The third night it wasn’t so lucky.
A bad day hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work.

The only thing I had ever stolen from my campsite in years of camping was Costco rotisserie chicken.
I was not in bear country so I thought it was ok to leave it out. Woke up to only to plastic shell. I am sure all the local raccoons are now seriously considering Costco membership after tasting such delicacy.
