Missed the Controlled Deer Hunting Draw
I could kick myself. I successfully applied for an antlerless deer license in 85A, but missed the controlled deer hunting draw, since I was blindsided by the change of the application period. Is there anything I can do to be allowed to participate in the controlled deer hunt this year (e.g. buy an additional tag or something) or am I simply out of luck and can only bow hunt this year?

You can also go North and hunt were there is no controlled hunt restrictions.

Depends on what the tag states, some anterless tags allow antlered deer in any WMU, and some do not. It will say on the tag which options are available.

If you don't have a Controlled Hunt Validation permit to go along with a Deer Tag for your particular WMU that you chose then you are S O L . Good idea to check the boundary lines because you can't use a 90B in a 90A Zone. A Deer Tag allows you to hunt anywhere North but only for a Buck for the two week season. If you received an Antlerless Tag for your chosen WMU (up North) then you can shoot a Doe or a Buck but not both. I don't Bow hunt but I think you can apply for an Antlerless Tag for any WMU for the Bow season ?
