    Default Southern Ontario Opener!

Anybody getting excited yet? Looks like the conditions aren't going to be great...there hasn't been rain in two weeks and it's scheduled to be in the mid-20s for next Sunday...yikes. I'm going to hunt the evening, not the morning. Probably shouldn't even be hunting at all in that kind of weather, but hey, it's opener.

I'm just shooting the ....what are your plans?

Looks like going to take a walk around Hullet in the morning. By the end of the week should be mostly woodcock hunting till they are gone.

I don't get too excited about the opener. Too many leaves on the trees. I generally don't go out until the leaves are down usually sometime after Thanksgiving.

There was action at Long Point but east wind picked up throughout the day making it tough. Looks like East winds for the week !

Yeah, all East winds...but the whole temperature anomaly is pretty nasty. It's supposed to stay warm into early October. I'll be hunting water for sure.

Ya it looks like a warm first week. I'm excited tho. Not sure if i'll make it out in the first couple weeks but if I do, i'll be focusing on hunting some public/conservation properties and the odd low-impact observation sit around home.

depending on where you are, its a great time to get at some partridge. in southern ontario shooting one is quite the feat. get them while theyre still not used to being hunted. once theyve been shot at once, they're impossible to hit.

No partridge where I'm at...sucks to suck.

Sunday's now looking like it's going to be 26 degrees...I think I might stay home. Too hot. The long term forecast looks dismal...
