2 bucks no luck. How's your morning going?
Well, still sitting in the blind right now, I'm sitting in an overgrown swamp no one's hunted in over 15 years. In a blind. The floor is uneven, everything is covered in moss and dogwood. And small trees cover everything in between with shrubs everywhere as well.
This morning around 8am, seen a small 4 point maybe making its way through this marsh. Tried to stop it making a sound and it just didn't care scrambled to get my doe bleat. Gave the call and it stood right up and stared at me for a few seconds but was still behind to much stuff for me to get a shot off on it.
Sat back down in my blind for an hour look up and a massive 8 point with wide thick antlers is maybe 60 yards infront of me infront of a tree again in the same spot. ugh. Watched him scrape the crap out of this tree. Tried to follow him with my crosshairs through the shrubs but I ended up loosing him. Gave off a few beats but he just looked and turned around walking into the thick shrubs. Happy I didn't get trigger happy. Hopefully he becomes back this way later on. For a new spot I found a couple weeks ago, it's turning out to be a great first day. At least I know they're around.
And I'm seeing bucks in daylight ! How's everyone else panning out this morning!? IMG_20231106_082802.jpg20231106_084815.jpg

Make that 3, just had another 6 point coming in when my dad ended up coming to get me on the atv. Tried to call him but his phone was off lol. Almost every hour there's been a buck passing by here. Got my dad to get my saw and cut all kinds of branches. Hopefully my luck keeps coming

Sounds like you’ve found a great spot!
However, it sounds like you learned the hard way to clear shooting lanes sometime before your first day hunting.
Hope tomorrow the 8-point pays you another visit…in a clear lane to shoot!

Good morning so far buddy.
I was out yesterday with the bow. Had a big dandy sneak behind my stand at 15 yards over my shoulder. This was at 8am (or 9am before time change). So bucks are up and moving.
Will be out for rifle starting on Thursday morning. Good luck to all
The deer are here, when I'm not near

I’m into my third day. The weather is the pits. Upon arrival on Saturday afternoon, there was 3-4” of week-old snow on the ground. I saw about 10 antlerless deer while driving around picking up trail cameras. Sunday started off cold and damp, then rain started in the evening. Saw 2 does and 2 fawns while sitting in an ice fishing shack that doubles as a blind. It rained all night and this morning, temp was 0. I went out and sat in a ladder stand until 8:30. Went back out at 10:30 and rain changed to wet snow. The same 4 deer walked by me at 12:30. Went back for lunch @ 2:00, then out to ice fishing shack for the remainder. Soon after getting to the shack, I had to go for a #2 and got busted by my pet antlerless deer. There’s a 9-pointer and forkhorn hanging around the area, maybe 1 will come by? Until the next report
Good luck!

Goodluck to you too Sam! Looks like you got your eyes set on a couple! It rained here all day as well, a little bit of wet snow at the end of the day. Hopefully I can connect with one of these guys!

Does seem like a great spot! However I did cut shooting lanes infront of me, but I didn't expect the main trails to be on the left! Kind of expected to see them there today as well once I seen the wind ! Anyways next time all the branches come down hahahha

So weird, I watched all 3 deer today scrape all diffrent trees. I used a doe bleat and all three of them stopped looked straight my way and then started scraping their trees again and walked the opposite way. Confusing to say the least, anyone have any idea why they wouldn't pay any attention to the doe bleat?

Day 2, nothing but pouring rain. Saw 1 doe last evening at about 100yds through the thick stuff and that's it. My buddy is hunting the opposite corner and saw 3 does last evening but got busted. Hoping this cold front will bring the boys around in daylight, there's a couple nice ones hanging around.
