    It's hard to imagine. I remember seeing a new Impala in the audit garage at GM that had the wrong main wiring master body harness installed. When the techs did the run-up,lights came on with the windshield washer switch and the seats moved with the light switch. Actually,it was quite hilarious until upper management showed up. That car never left the plant (nor did any other that had a major defect),but,some of the operators that failed miserably sure did.

    Knock on wood I have had good luck with GM HD Duramax trucks.

    Worst truck I ever owned was actually a Nissan Titan - what a POS. One thing after another. When it worked (which was rare) though it did drive nice.

    Not sure WTF as i topped coolant 1600 km ago and now it seems to be holding. That 1600 km included 700k towing the snowmobile trailer and 700k towing 19,000 lbs with the float and rubber tire backhoe. Inclined now to let it ride.

    With mileage like that, you know the dealership will leave you with a very sore rectum and next to nothing for trade-in. I'd personally run it into the ground, max-out your investment in it, until it dies. I just went through this when buying a new 2023 Tundra. My old 2010 Tundra was still rock solid with 280,000km on it. The best any dealership would give me for a trade was $5800. It was so ridiculous I started laughing and the saleman got all pissy when I told him to smell me later. I kept the truck, put $300 in to it to fix the fender rust, undercoated it, dropped my insurance to liability only (is only $290 per year now to insure) and bought a new stainless tail pipe for $330. It's my beater rig and I now only use it for trapping and fishing. I've driven it another 30,000km with just oil changes, air filter, and brake service. The new $65k Tundra sits in the driveway and only has 6300km on it at 13 months. I'll drive the old truck until it dies.

    do you know where the coolant was leaking? were you finding some underneath the vehicle when parked?
    last thing you want is coolant mixing with the oil and turning it into sludge... sometimes they can leak thru the EGR cooler..
    it sounds like youre on top of it, but stay vigilant on this so you dont harm the engine.

    Taking her in on Wednesay. No sign of coolant anywhere externally. That's why i was thinking head gasket.

    Your new Toyota will be rusted out before you can kill the old one. LOL

    That coolant has to be going somewhere. It just doesn't suddenly go away and leaks don't fix themselves. Crawl underneath and crack the oil pan drain plug. If there's coolant in the oil,you'll see it right away. It'll look like a milkshake.

    I had a 1998 sierra - when it was about 3 years old started leaking coolant into the cylinder combustion chamber. No leak on the outside of the engine. No coolant in the oil. But it would blow a bit of white exhaust on startup.

    Well verdict is in. Very small leak at back of right side head gasket. Going to get a quote and then make the call.
