Early bear
Pretty early for the bears to be out. This is near Pembroke.

I’m shut surprised that more aren’t out yet given the weak winter we just had.

They’ve been out for almost one month now near Fenelon Falls. I’ve been feeding them a beaver carcass buffet. The one old sow has 3 cubs. Old Lardass is still kicking. He’s still got to be at least 550lbs post-hibernation. I found him hibernating two years ago. He was just laying under a big white spruce with some leaves scraped up around him. No attempt to find a blowdown root mass or a slash pile.

They need to go back to bed. There's very little for them to eat.
