I have a Beretta 400 Xtreme Plus. I've been using just the full choke with Winchester XL Longbeards, works/patterns well. This year I'm sticking with the full choke but I bought into the Federal 3rd Degree TSS program, it patterns well at 40 yds. Couldn't find any XL #6's.
What ever you work with, pattern your gun first.

Stock winchester full choke. Challenger 2 3/4" #4. I don't have a problem getting the turkey's in to 35 yards with calling/decoys and that's lots for that range.

Two good points made here; practice with your ammo/choke/distance to find your kill zone but also your "form", are you standing or sitting, in a chair or against a tree ? Shotguns are made for pointing not aiming unless used for deer/coyote etc. using slugs/sabots so depending on the type of sights on your barrel you need to practice. I use a 21 inch smoothbore barrel with my Longbeard choke because it has rifle (iron ?) sights on it.
Good Luck & Good Hunting !

When I was using my A400 for turkey i had a carlson x-full choke paired with 3" #6 kent and it worked very well. I now use a dedicated 870 shurshot for turkey. With the standard remington x-full choke it patterns best with cheaper turkey loads like kent and challenger. With the primos jellyhead choke it prefers the win longbeards.

Same choke, ammo and firearm that I use. Deadly accurate.
So many critters & so little time to hunt......
